The Sacrament of Holy Baptism

All human beings are created in the image and likeness of God; therefore, every child is a “child of God”.  Baptism is the rite by which one becomes a member of “the household of God” – the Church.  This sacrament of the Church is administered within the context of our regular congregational worship.

At St. Peter’s we generally administer the sacrament of baptism on one Sunday every calendar month.  To find out when the next baptismal service is scheduled, you can check out the monthly calendars posted on this website or contact our parish office.  Once you have registered for a baptismal service, parents, and sponsors (godparents) are required to attend a baptismal preparation/rehearsal session in the church, usually on the Tuesday evening prior to the baptism.  With respect to infant baptism, the sponsors and at least one of the parents must be baptized themselves.

If you have any further questions with respect to baptism at St. Peter’s, please feel free to contact the parish office.
